KRNV: “We asked Lombardo if he would do away with that executive order if elected.”
Joe Lombardo: “…Yeah, absolutely.”
In response to Joe Lombardo’s recent admission that he would overturn Governor Sisolak’s executive order protecting in-state providers and out-of-state individuals who travel to Nevada for reproductive care, the Sisolak for Governor campaign released the following statement:
“After months of being unclear with Nevadans, Joe Lombardo finally admitted what we’ve known all along — if elected, he would overturn Governor Sisolak’s executive order and work to punish providers and those who travel to Nevada for reproductive care,” said Sisolak for Governor spokesperson Natalie Gould. “After committing to considering cruel policies like banning contraceptives, implementing mandatory waiting periods, and overturning our current protections, it’s clear Joe Lombardo doesn’t trust Nevadans to make their own health care decisions.”
In addition to wanting to criminalize providers and patients, Joe Lombardo is endorsed by National Right to Life’s Super PAC, an extreme anti-abortion organization that advocates for a total ban on abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest.
